Position Summary: The Patient Account Representative (PAR) reports to the Patient Accounting Supervisor and may be responsible for any and all of the following: electronic billing to all third party payers, follow-up, and/or cash posting. The PAR must be proficient in both verbal and written communication and should possess extensive knowledge in third party billing and reimbursement. The PAR is responsible for following Tuomey Healthcare hospital standards for proper account documentation and very good communication skills with management level for reporting issues/concerns with problem accounts. Qualifications: High school diploma/GED required. 1-3 years of experience required. Computer skills required to include proficiency in using the Meditech, HPF, and ePremis systems. Must have experience with claims, billing, and financial customer service. OJT considered for qualified applicants. Must have high level of confidentiality. OSHA Category: Rare exposure to risk of bloodborne deseases (Category II). Rare exposure to risk regarding chemical hazards (Category B). Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and walking and exert up to 10 lbs. force occasionally. Performs repetitive tasks/motions.
