Process Control Engineer
Job Description
Assist an organization in providing automated solutions, engineering services, and technical support to SRN! S Management & Operations (M&O). Process Control & Automation Engineering (PC&AE) supports chemical, nuclear and research facilities through the implementation of process control and automation technologies. PC&AE is also considered an enabling organization promoting technology to reduce cost while improving efficiency and effectiveness. An applicant will begin to plan and develop engineered solutions to technical tasks or project objectives. Begin using SRNS systems and meeting SRNS requirements with supervisory guidance. Assist more senior technical professionals in performing related activities on more complex tasks.
Specific areas of concentration will be in the support of Emerson DeltaV Process Control Systems. Process Simulation and Training Systems which are typically duplicates of the control systems used to operate the facility and use scientific models to simulate the process in real time will also be supported. Assume technical responsibility for one or ! more related phases of a program. Cooperate with other enginee! rs performing related phases of the technical work. Be cognizant of the work performed in other projects in field of technology. Accept the delegated technical responsibility for design, application, test, or the preparation of specifications for systems, materials, equipment, or components. Apply technical knowledge toward the reduction of the cost and
improvement of the product where possible and incorporate new ideas resulting from engineering scientific progress in the field. Prepare costs and schedule estimates on proposed projects/tasks in assigned area. Prepare technical manuals, reports, and procedures. Demonstrate creative ability through the medium of patent disclosures or the ingenuity exercised in solving technical problems. Demonstrate total quality attributes through development and submittal of Total Quality Improvement Suggestions.
Basic Qualifications
(Three Years Experience, Bachelors Degree)
In applicable science or engineering d! iscipline entry level PhD degree, MS degree with 2-4 years experience ; or BS and 5-10 years experience. Understands and applies advanced knowledge of discipline's standard theories, concepts, principles and techniques; has working knowledge of standard engineering scientific practices and applications.
Other Qualifications
(Excellent Communication Skills)
- 5 years experience in developing DeltaV based process control code using DeltaV 10.3 or later
- 5 years experience in administering DeltaV domains using Windows Server 2003/2008 or Windows XP/7
- 3 years experience with and working knowledge of Mimic and Syncade
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a security clearance, if required.
