$68,350 - $97,404, Band 09, SC State Classification System

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
In this challenging role, you will support the Office o! f Information Technology department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following:

  • Directs the development, coordination, and maintenance of the college's information resource management systems, including organizational standards relating to work procedures, systems security, data integrity, quality of service, reliability, and communications policies.
  • Formulate, implement, and administer college policy and procedures in the overall use of information technology and innovation.
  • Recruit, develop, and maintain a service oriented, pro-active team.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, students, IT suppliers, and consultants, to discuss and resolve operational problems and leverage outsourced services to increase capacity and extend technical breadth.
  • Continuously improve services and operational processes staying abreast of new developments wit! h technology.
  • Services as the institution's information security officer.
  • Works with IT Governance Council to develop strategic plan and establish institutional priorities to develop budgets and allocate resources to support the needs of the institution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor's degree in communications, business administration, computer science, mathematics, statistics; management information science or a related field and management experience in a telecommunications or data processing environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include seven years of progre! ssively responsible experience as a director or administrator of an IT ! area for an academic institution or midsize organization with multiple sites; demonstrated success as a senior leader and manager; knowledge of educational delivery systems and classroom teaching preferred; demonstrated ability to identify and recommend solutions for present and future IT challenges. Demonstrated knowledge of risk management best practices as well as industry best practices ensuring regulatory compliance. Demonstrated ability to manage major IT initiatives; excellent communication skills including the ability to express complex technology concepts in a clear concise manner. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build effective teams with a focus on service excellence and student success.

JOB SUMMARY

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides vision and stewardship in leveraging information technology (IT) to maintain the position of Greenville Technical College (GTC) as a leader i! n student success, persistence, and completion through offering best in class services. The CIO is responsible for ensuring the security of complex IT systems; directs the planning, analysis, design, development, and implementation of IT systems; and manages a diverse IT department.
