Job Title: Med Info Coder Abstractor IIIDepartment Name: Health Information Mana! gement Location: Corporate Services Full/Part Time: Full-time Shift: 8a-430p Minimum Hourly Base Rate: 18.11 Job Number: 2012-8414 Job Description: Responsible for assignment of appropriate ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 codes and abstracting statistical and reimbursement data for inpatient and outpatient encounters. Assigns DRG for all inpatient discharges. Audits and verifies chargemaster procedure codes entered for proper APC assignment. Job Qualifications: REMOTE CODING OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE (AFTER FIRST 90 DAYS OF ON-SITE TRAINING) Coder II Position: High school diploma or equivalent with at least one (1) year outpatient coding to include outpatient surgery in multiple specialties and outpatient observation required.
Certification as RHIA, RHIT, CCA, CPC or CPC-H required. Professional Preferences: Knowledge of inpatient coding and DRG assignment and Associate or Bachelors degree in Health Information Management preferred. Coder III Position: High school diploma or equi! valent with at least three (3) years of outpatient coding to i! nclude outpatient surgery in multiple specialties and outpatient observation required. Certification as CCS required.
