The incumbent will serve as a Program Manager for the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Class, an Acquisition Category (ACAT) I Shipbuilding Program and provide Configuration, Program, Acquisition, and Financial Management support. The Program Manager is accountable to the Business Portfolio Manager (BPM)/Sub-Portfolio/IPT Lead and/or Customer for meeting the cost, schedule, and performance expectations of the LCS as defined by the IPT/Project Charter.

Vacancy is within the Program & Project Management competency.

Final Salary will include LMS of 14.16%.

DUTIES:
Oversees configuration and base lining activities of project items.

Evaluates existing configuration management processes to recommend improvements.

Works closely with development, quality assurance, and support teams to complete configuration tasks within deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities, as they relate to this position. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or next lower pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

1) Maintaining schedules of projects and meetings; 2) Developing appropriate resolutions and action items for configuration issues; and 3) Developing best practices to improve integrity and quality of configuration process.

OR

Have a PhD. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

OR

A combination of experience and education as described above which, when combined, is equivalent to 100% of the qualification requirement.

REQUIREMENTS:
Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

A secret security clearance is a requirement of this position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal. If you possess a security clearance, please indicate the level and termination date in your resume.

This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) and requires additional education, training and experience. Applicants should meet the DAWIA Certification requirements for Program Management and be certified at the Level II within 24 months of appointment. This position requires Travel 25% of the time.

Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Under the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Science Technology Reinvention Laboratory (SSC STRL) personnel system selectee will be required to successfully complete a three-year probationary period.
