Job Summary:
The US Head of Reimbursement and Government Affairs will be responsible for leading the companys efforts to secure reimbursement for its ophthalmology products, as well as establishing and maintaining positive relationships with government agencies and policymakers at the federal, state, and local levels. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and executing the companys reimbursement and government affairs strategies, ensuring that our products are accessible to patients in need and that our business objectives are aligned with relevant regulations and policy priorities. Additionally, this role will lead a team of regional field reimbursement managers.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the companys reimbursement and government affairs strategies, in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in government agencies, including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other relevant entities.
Represent the company in relevant industry associations and other forums, advocating for policies and regulations that support our business objectives.
Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments that could impact our business and provide guidance to internal stakeholders on potential risks and opportunities.
Work closely with commercial and medical teams to develop and reimbursement and access strategies for our products, ensuring that they are accessible to patients and covered by insurance plans.
Lead a team of regional field reimbursement managers to ensure that our products are effectively reimbursed and accessible to patients in each region.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies, including those related to product labeling, advertising, and promotion.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in business, healthcare administration, public policy, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
At least 10 years of relevant experience in reimbursement and government affairs, preferably in the healthcare industry.
Strong knowledge of the US healthcare system, including reimbursement policies, government programs, and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in government and industry, and to effectively advocate for policy positions.
Experience in developing and executing pricing and access strategies for pharmaceutical or medical device products.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and develop actionable recommendations.
Ability to lead and manage a team of regional field reimbursement managers.
Ability to travel as needed, both domestically and internationally.
