POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant or In-Training Program Manager is responsible for assisting the Program Manager in the efficient management of rehabilitation services in his/her assigned account(s). This position also assists in integration of rehabilitation services in all settings. The Assistant or In-Training Program Manager supports the delivery of the highest standard and quality of rehabilitation services.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Fills in for the Program Manager in his/her absence. 2. Assists in the efficient and profitable management of rehabilitation services in sites of service and home care contracts. 3. Assists in operationally managing Genesis Rehab Services personnel and consultants within facility or home care contracts. 4. Assists the PM with conducting or coordinating the timely completion of the annual merit review for therapy staff. 5. Assists in management of therapy staff. 6. Assists in daily staffing and utilization in cooperation with input from treating therapists, consideration of clinical requirements and recommendations from the Clinical Specialist. 7. Continues direct patient care. 8. Assists the PM in meeting budget through revenue enhancement and control of expenses 9. Assists in analysis of financial performance of department. 10. Assists in identification of areas of opportunity for clinical growth in collaboration with PM, CS, and AD). 11. Assists in preparation of facility reports on a weekly and monthly basis. 12. Assists Area Director and Program Manager in annual budget preparation. 13. Supports the delivery of the highest standard of rehabilitation services through appropriate utilization of resources, the promotion of clinical programs, and staff development in collaboration with licensed therapists, the Area Director, and the Clinical Specialist. 14. Assists PM with customer service. 15. Ensures that the clinical management of the rehabilitation department, including oversight related to case management, quality improvement, care planning, clinical utilization, and patient identification is overseen by a licensed therapist. 16. Assists PM in ensuring practice act compliance. 17. Attends facility meetings and is responsible for information sharing at facility meetings at the PM's direction. 18. Assists with discipline under the PM and AD's direction. 19. Performs other related duties as required.

JOB SKILLS:
1. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. 2. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions and problem solve as appropriate. 3. Must have a thorough knowledge of Medicare and third party billing. 4. Must possess the ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. 5. Must possess the ability to effectively manage/motivate staff.

PERFORMS RELATED DUTIES:
1. The Assistant or In-Training Program Manager interacts with corporate management, nursing center residents, families, visitors, center staff and Genesis subsidiary personnel. 2. He/She carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands on intervention/participation may be required.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. The Assistant or In-Training Program Manager position requires that the employee meets the requirements for a PM or Assistant PM. 2. The Assistant or In-Training Program Manager must have three years direct patient care experience, and either one year of management experience in a rehabilitation setting or has functioned successfully as a point person under the supervision of a Program Manager for a period of one year. 3. A thorough knowledge of Medicare and third party billing is also required.
