Chemical Process Manufacturing Engineer

Description: Apple & Assoc. Inc is currently seeking to employ Chemical Process Manufacturing Engineer right now, this position will be placed in South Carolina. Chemical Process Engineer: This position is a Process performance leader for a successful and established fine chemical batch process for this plant near Columbia, SC. The engineer will work directly for the Production Manager to lead the “management of change process" in the plant. As the Chemical Process Manufacturing Engineer, you will lead the continuous improvement process, lead new product introductions on the floor and work as the lead Process Engineer, maintaining batch processes, change-overs, corrective measures, training of operators and engineers, and coordinating a variety of projects in the plant. Daily/Weekly duties may include: Develops and maintains batch sheets and other necessary documentation Develops calibration plans and preventive maintenance plans together with maintenance Controls and enters production data in SAP, etc.
Monitors productivity, output and quality together using lean and /or six sigma tools or advanced quality tools Develops and implements corrective measures in case of deficiencies Leads the continuous improvement processes in the plant area Provides training for the plant processes as needed Collaborates with Maintenance in order to coordinate and prioritize repair, project and improvement work. Implementation of new processes in the plant and is the interface to other plants or to R&D Writes campaign reports and maintains process performance tools (charts, etc.) Responsible for maintaining the process documentation He provides documentation and knowledge to other departments as needed Covers the plant operation on weekends on a rotating schedule as directed by the plant manager He participates in or leads project teams related to the production department Requirements Minimum of 6 years experience in Chemical Manufacturing plant (preferably organic chemistry or organic synthesis) Chemical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Chemist with production experience in a batch environment with frequent change overs. SAP experience highly preferred Experience leading continuous improvement projects, including lean and six sigma tools desired
