A Technical Support Engineer II is needed in Charleston, SC. As an integral member of the Technical Support team, the Technical Support Engineer II provides both technical and functional aid to non-profit clients, its employees and Blackbaud Analysts by fielding support requests in a variety of areas related to Blackbaud Product offerings.

This position will provide the right candidate the opportunity to exercise a talent for investigating technical problems and providing solutions to our non-profit clients. The Technical Support Engineer II will answer users' questions about system functionality, system configuration, and unexpected results.

The ideal candidate is undaunted by complexity and merely challenged by the unknown. We are looking for someone with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Our team works closely together to promptly resolve our client's issues, but each Analyst has ownership of their cases through resolution. This is not a PC-support/help desk position, rather a support engineering position that resolves complex software installation and application issues. Investigations will involve issue recreation and troubleshooting SQL databases, operating systems, software application errors, and log files. Additionally, the Technical Support Engineer II will participate in infrastructure projects and will provide administration and support of Blackbaud's internal testing lab.

This position interacts with Blackbaud analysts in a Tier 2 capacity and directly supports users at non-profit organizations. We are looking for a combination of experience with SQL queries, computer networks, software and operating system installations, SQL Server and IIS.

Blackbaud's Support department is an exciting, collaborative, fast-paced environment where customer satisfaction is the primary goal. The Technical Support Engineer II will have the opportunity to develop close working relationships with our client base, other analysts and management adding depth and dimension to the process of task resolution.

  • Resolving network, hardware and operating system issues

  • Accurately documenting technical work
  • Seeking opportunities to improve department procedures
  • Documenting problems and solutions to train less experienced team members on how to properly address client and product problems
  • Ability to learn new skills on the job
  • Staying abreast of current technology in products, design changes, and new product offerings
