The primary responsibilities of the Dock Lead/Switcher is to supervise temporary workers and move trailers to and from the loading dock on! the second shift. In addition this position is responsible for loading and unloading trailers, checking freight and manifesting.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Years of Related Professional Experience: < 1.
High School diploma or equivalent is an asset.
Skills:
Must be able to safely and efficiently operate a tractor/trailer
Must maintain a forklift operators driver's license
Special Requirements:
Must be able to lift 35 pounds continuously and up to 50 pounds occassionally
Must be able to stand continuously
Must be able read bills of lading completed in English
Must be able to perform basic math functions
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversees temporary dock workers
2. Ensures terminal building is locked and all security measures taken before the second shift closes.
3. Completes drivers outbound instructions and t! rip sheets
4. Manifests trips for outbound moves

5. Responsible for moving trailers to and from the dock
6. Ensures trailers on the yard have appropriate safety and security devices applied to them
7. Operates a fork-lift to load and unload freight and manually moves freight as required
8. Ensures the accuracy of freight against bills of lading
