This Supervisor will oversee the Sumter faci! lity operations as both the lead manager onsite and main customer contact. Responsibilities include managing expectations within customer service level agreements (SLA), directing work activities to ensure adherence to operational objectives and KPIs are met, and monitoring quality assurance systems and programs to meet company goals for product and service quality. This Manager will support a team that should be known for exceptional efficiency and timeliness, and s/he will record and analyze customer metrics (e.g. productivity, cost, response time, material movement, safety, etc.) using Excel and other software.
Scope : Service provider of supply chain operations ( Sub-assembly and Vendor Managed Inventory ) for heavy machinery clients in 60,000 sq. ft. leased facility managing 2,000+ SKUs. Will supervise up to 20 direct reports (starting with 2 Assemblers, 2 Material Handlers, and 2 Drivers). Decisions made by Supervisor: manpower planning and utilization! , volume and capacity planning, and minor facility-related dec! isions. Decisions made by next level Manager: Capital asset purchases, rate formulation/changes, hiring/termination/salary changes for staff, and major facility-related decisions.

SELECT RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operations Management : Oversee Sub-assembly & Kitting, Vendor Managed Inventory, and Supply Chain Operations . Manage facility and actively participate in planning and implementation of business processes to continue growth and profitability at or above budgeted levels.
o Make adjustments during shift to allow for the best res! ponse time for the customers
o Manage manpower utilization, planning, and adherence to standard work
o Manage and maintain building and equipment with the help of outside vendors
- Customer Management : Partner with clients to ensure operational metrics are met. Communicate and interact daily with customers; escalate complex customer issues/requests to Manager.
- Staff Management : Select and train staff who embody G&Dâs core values. Drive accountability for performance through Leadership by Example. Complete administrative duties related to staff management (e.g. performance reviews) with aid of centralized HR group. Maintain positive employee relations and morale through a workplace that is fair, open, honest and objective.
- Safety : Encourage, monitor, and maintain a safe work environment; document and address issues.
- Financial Management : Analyze and monitor financial responsibilities for the facility. Ensure ! that Operation works towards the budgeted levels of volume and profitab! ility while operating at the most efficient levels possible. Contribution margins are a key performance indicator metric.
- Cost Control : Operate sensibly and within budget; use resources at hand. Monitor controllable costs; escalate cost, revenue, and rate issues to Manager.
- Reporting : Monitor, document, and maintain operational metrics using Excel, internal systems, and client legacy systems.
- Business Development : Assist in negotiation of future business development with local customer.
- Continuous Improvement : Initiate and drive continuous improvement efforts with client support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- B! achelorâs Degree preferred; equivalent experience / certification required in lieu of degree
- Supply Chain, Logistics, APICS, Lean, and/or Six Sigma certifications desired
- 5-10+ years of Supply Chain Operations & Material Flow experience; 3PL experience desired
- 1-3+ years of Sub-assembly Manufacturing & Quality Assurance experience preferred; must be able to troubleshoot mechanical issues on the sub-assembly lines
- Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) supplier containment experience strongly preferred
- 5+ years of experience supervising warehouse/manufacturing personnel in an OSHA regulated environment with a heavy emphasis on Safety
- Experience working in/with the heavy machinery industry a plus
- Accomplished Supply Chain / Logistics Best Practices champion with working knowledge of the tools listed above (e.g. value stream mapping, CPS, scorecards, etc.)
- Must have a track record of success overseeing a facilit! y of comparable scale/scope , and coordinating supply chain schedules t! o meet changing demand
- Must have a track record of success solving a variety of operations issues with speed and safety
- Experience in a World Class environment serving multiple customers is preferred
- Ability to think proactively and strategically with/for customer to provide best possible service
- Data-driven : forecasts spikes and finds trends and potential issues using data and metrics
- Excellent customer service skills; ability to communicate clearly orally and in written form
- Proficient at writing processes and managing a heavy administrative workload
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment is critical
- Ability to produce client reports with proficiency in Excel , PowerPoint, and Word is essential
