This position reports to the Director of Safety and Security and will be based out of Anderson, SC. This role will be responsible for suppo! rting the implementation of the Greatwide Safety and Security Management System. Developing and implementing a program that drives operational leadership accountability to ensure compliance with Greatwide requirements as well as applicable federal, state and local regulations. Drive execution of both strategic and tactical initiatives at the Operating Center, and engaging all levels of the Operating Center in the safety process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Drive operational ownership and accountability for safety performance
Provide technical guidance to Operation Center Management/Staff
Drive execution of tactical and strategic initiatives
Conduct safety training and awareness presentations
Conducts and communicates trend analysis
Communicate Operations Center safety performance
Work with Operation Center management in the development of location-specific action plans
Establish an! d maintain effective working relationship with Operation Cente! r management and owner operators
Conduct regulatory and procedural audits
Works closely with capacity team to train and develop drivers
Facilitate and participate in investigations of injury or collisions
Participate in award recognition events
Required Skills
BA/BS Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Loss Prevention, Risk Management or related field required
Minimum of 3+ years of direct field safety experience in managing employee/contractor Safety & Health, environmental, workers compensation, and fleet safety management
Candidates must have a proficient knowledge of Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Candidates possessing or in pursuit of any of the following certifications are preferred: Certified Safety Professional [CSP], Associate Safety Professional [ASP], or Certified Safety Director [CSD]
