Job Functions
Develop and design advanced vehicle components and systems. Apply theoretical principles and engineering techniques in designing a vehicle that is reliable, serviceable, energy efficient, competitive and uses the latest technology available in the industry.
Interface with engineering personnel to determine the most effective and economic materials to be used in product parts. Interface with Test & Development personnel to analyze problems encountered in prototype development/testing. Provide creative, technically feasible solutions.
Interface and coordinate with purchasing, vendors, BOM, manufacturing and other engineering personnel in the product development and testing phases.
Research state-of-the-art developments in the vehicle industry and apply the latest advances.
Apply statistical and engineering techniques in designing and testin! g. Use programming and modeling techniques in conjunction with mathematical analysis.
Interface with product regulation and compliance personnel to design vehicles that meet government regulations, restrictions and codes.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree and 2 years of experience;
OR, an Associates degree and 4 years of experience;
OR, 8 years of related Daimler experience;
AND 1 year of group leader, project leader, or mentoring experience is required.
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering and 4 years related experience or an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering and six years or related experience is preferred.
Experience in a manufacturing environment involving material specifications, testing, trouble shooting, and failure analysis is preferred.
At least one year group leader / project lead / mentoring experience is preferred.
