Planned Systems International, a Government Contractor, has an immediate opportunity available for an experienced information technology Senior Performanc! e Test Engineer, specializing in performance, capacity analysis, and testing, in either our St. Petersburg, FL; Charleston, SC; or Arlington, VA offices to support our Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This project conducts Software Quality Assurance (SQA) testing. The testing will identify system failures due to load/volume.
This is a team â€"oriented environment with group participation. The team interacts with the customer and/or development team to gain an understanding of the application requirements and conformance criteria. Members of this group define test scope; plan deliverables for the testing activities of assigned projects; collect, identify, define, and organize detailed information related to testing requirements in the VA.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Test Manager, the Senior Performance Test Engineer will be responsible for, but not to be limited to the following:
Providing administr! ation set up, scripting, execution and reporting on software a! pplication integrated performance.
Load testing that identifies system break and load degradation levels.
Providing support in project design, development and deployment activities.
Reviewing and recommending improvements to existing test procedures.
Producing accurate estimates for the time needed to execute on assigned projects.
Overseeing the test activities of more junior test engineers.
Working with testing team to develop performance test plans and cases.
Minimum Requirements:
BS degree in related field and 5 years of performance engineering experience using LoadRunner tool to assess system performance. An equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience may be considered.
5 years of experience in Software Testing (Test Cases, Test Scripts, Defect Management)
Experience in analysis of data gathered from performance tests tools.
Ability to us! e load tools to monitor, gather, and report application performance on applications under test.
Awareness of industry of performance standards.
Knowledge of performance bottlenecks and end-to-end performance web performance measures (server response time, throughput, network latency, etc.)
Ability to write LoadRunner scripts in ANSI C language.
Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Experience using Rational test tools.
Demonstrable knowledge/abilities should include:
Operating systems
Network operations
N-tier architecture
Ad hoc query writing
Windows conversant
Ability to navigate within UNIX /Linux
Conversant in ISO and TCP/IP models
Excellent verbal and written skills
Ability to effectively problem solve through logical thinking
U.S. Citizenship is required as is successfully passing a thorough Government! background screening process.
Additional Desired Qualifica! tions:
Experience with VA healthcare systems.
