Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsible for design, implementation and m! aintenance of production databases and data dictionaries in compliance with application specifications and company policies, standards and procedures. Manages and maintains all production and non-production databases.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
Optimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost
Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access and security administration
Supports the setting of department policies and strategies on data management issues
Performs backup and recovery on Database Management Systems
Configures database parameters, and prototype designs against logical data models
Defines data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements
Supports multiple services and multiple databases of medium to high complexity with multiple concurrent users,! ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of data
Coaches and mentors less experienced staff
Supports the development of enterprise-wide multi-disciplinary architectural documents translating business data requirements into topographical format
Supports the development of business cases for enterprise-wide data management initiatives as a direct response to business drivers
Guides and oversees multiple-concurrent data management projects
Supports the development of strategies, policy and standards for corporate data management and contributes to standards working groups
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
6 plus years of experience working with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environment
Prior experiene in Sr. DBA Role/5 years Oracle DBA experience
Must have RMAN, RAC and! Dataguard experience
Must have performance tuning, backup and recovery experience
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION & LICENSES
BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience
