1. JOB PURPOSE
Clemson University's Edisto Research & Education Center is seeking a hig! hly qualified individual for an Extension associate position in Precision Agriculture. This individual will develop a regionally recognized Precision Agriculture Extension program supporting current efforts in crop production, forage and livestock production and irrigation technology in collaboration with members of the Clemson University Precision Ag team. Collaboration with the Intelligent Farm team is anticipated.
2. JOB FUNCTIONS
TRAINING AND SUPPORT
Train and assist growers and Extension agents in the application of Precision Agriculture technologies to crop production, animal and forage production, and irrigation systems. E/30%
PROGRAMMING
Deliver Precision Agriculture programs to producers utilizing on-farm tests and demonstrations, workshops, field days, as well as developing printed and online educational materials. E/30%
FUNDING
Obtain funding in support of Extension programming. E/20%
COLLABORATION
Coll! aborate with Precision Agriculture researchers in developing n! ew technologies and delivering them to the end user. E/20%
QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must have an MS in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Biosystems Engineering or closely related field. Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience and knowledge of precision agriculture are required.
PAY & WORK SCHEDULE:
Standard Hrs: 37.5 Salary commensurate with education and experience.
