Quality Technician
Location: Blythewood South Carolina
Description: Navistar, Inc. is hiring Quality Technician right now, this occupation will be placed in South Carolina. More details about this occupation opportunity kindly read the description below. Completes full analysis of Injector, Valve and/or other component returns. Specializing in assembly, testing, inspection and preparation of samples for Metallurgical analysis of debris. Inspects, assembles a! nd tests components, sub assemblies, operate test equipment, cleanliness equipment and QIS Return Goods system, creates documentation, issues reports and closes RG as required. May be deployed to customer locations for safe launch and problem resolution.
Basic Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
At least 7 years of soft and hard metal manufacturing process support experience
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to travel 10%
At least 4 years of Fuel / Air Automotive system troubleshooting and repair or At least 3 years of soft and hard metallurgical support experience or At least 3 years of chemistry and product wash systems support or At least 3 years of Controlled environment / sub micron metrology laboratory technical experience
US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required

Desired Skills:
Working knowledge of Metrology equipment, EDAX, SEM, hardness testing, sample preparation, mounting and polishing metal specimens, identification of metal microstructure components

Hands on experience in machining, grinding, assembly processes or diesel application mechanics

Associates degree or equivalent technical qualification preferred

Excellent communication and follow up skills a must
Demonstrated capability in maintenance and troubleshooting of test equipment. (Mechanical abilities maintaining other man! ufacturing equipment could suffice.)
Experience with External Quality Systems with relation to Calibration and NIST traceability Standards
Strong mechanical aptitude
Solid working knowledge of / "user" knowledge of Microsoft windows applications
Able to use trouble shooting and problem solving techniques to resolve technical related issues
Working knowledge of the following: Surface and form, mechanics and metallurgy, repair and calibration, GD&T, fixture design, and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
Requires minimal guidance in performing technical functions such as complete assembly tear down, and testing of complex components and assemblies
