JOB PURPOSE:
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for daily operations of Campus Recreation facilities, with primary emphasis on! Fike Recreation Center. This position provides development/leadership opportunities and direct supervision for operations, climbing wall, and lifeguard student employees. This is a 12 month position that reports to the Assistant Director of Operations.

JOB FUNCTIONS:
OPERATIONS: E/60%
Directly responsible for open recreational activities, equipment and space to include the cardio / weight areas, pool, gym spaces, studios and common areas:
Recruit, hire, train, and provide leadership / professional development to student employees.
Ensure Department & University procedures are followed at all times.
Assist in developing and documenting operation procedures, develop materials, and refresher training programs.
Coordinate staff for activities, events, and rentals occurring in the Recreation Center.
Maintain expenditures within approved budget.
Assist in developing and enforcing policies and procedures (facility space prior! ities, facility access, dress code policy, etc.).
Provide ! oversight to the grounds, field spaces, and satellite facilities as assigned.

SUPPORT: E/20%
Provide support to the overall management of Campus Recreation:
Ensure quality service, programmatic success, participant safety, and facility security and cleanliness.
Assist in developing specifications for the purchase of equipment and supplies as needed.
Conduct comprehensive on-site safety inspections to ensure that all facilities and programs are conducted with safety as the primary concern.
Assist in developing specifications for the purchase of equipment and supplies as needed.
Provide support for projects, construction, and renovation projects as needed.
Effectively communicate all information affecting participants to the internal and external communities.

COORDINATION: E/10%
Coordination of parking logistics and presence on game days at Campus Beach and Recreation Area

OTHER: E/10%
Partici! pate or assume a leadership role in Department, Division, and University committees, projects, activities, and events. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
A bachelor's degree.

PREFERRED IN ADDITION TO THE MINIMUM:
Master's degree. Minimum of one year of experience working within Campus Recreation, or related
department, at a higher education institution (one year of experience granted for two years of graduate assistantship). Experience working with undergraduate students in a college environment.

PAY & WORK SCHEDULE:
Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 04 ($ 25,627.00 - $ 47,413.00)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Experience with undergraduate student staff, strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills needed. Collaboration, interpersonal, and computer software literacy required.

GUIDELINES & SUPERVISION:
This position ! reports directly to the Assistant Director of Operations. General guide! lines and supervision are provided to the position.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
Both the ability to work autonomously and provide leadership / professional development for student employees are necessary for success in this role. Self starter, the ability to establish and maintain high standards, and develop others in proactive service delivery are critical. Evening and weekend hours are common due to position requirements.
