The expectation is that the incumbent will move to the Customer Service Rep II level based upon proficiency within 12 - 18 months. Responsibilities will include ser! vicing and processing all customers remitting payment to Colonial Life on an individually billed payment method, which includes Colonial Life, Paul Revere, First Unum, William Penn, and Lincoln blocks of business. Analysis, risk assessment and courses of action taken are consistent and in line with corporate service expectations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Convert policies from payroll deduction to an individual billing payment method.
Receive premium, review for any premium discrepancy, assess the financial risk of accepting the premium and take the necessary actions of applying or refunding the premium.
Use established procedures, guidelines, and companyâs financial risk factors make decisions and respond to service requests from policyholders in a quality manner. This involves maintaining policy records, which include bill mode changes, reinstatement of policies, cancellations, and other changes that the client requests.
Partner with other business areas such as Account Serv! ices, Underwriting and Life Services as needed to complete requests.
Provide daily support to the Sales Organization and Home Office personnel, via telephone, in explaining or clarifying any billing questions or issues for our customers whom pays or wishes to convert to an individual billing method.
Communicate by correspondence to client regarding policy changes.
Service customers who personally visit onsite to deliver their premium payment or to ask for assistance regarding the payment of their premiums.
Participate on department/cross function teams to represent the ideas and views of the team, such as the Employee Association team.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Specifications
1+ year in Customer Service related role.
College degree preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
Develop an in depth understanding of Colonial! Lifeââ¬â¢s products, services and business functions as well as Colonial Lifeââ¬â¢s processes.
Ability to prioritize and complete large volumes of work with great attention to detail.
Effective working relationships with key personnel and work well in team environments.
Taking accountability for delivering quality results for each file processed.
Demonstrate desire to expand technical knowledge and learn new tool.
Create and reinforce the core values that shape an environment for successful employee and business results.
Able to effectively navigate through Colonial Life Mainframe and Client View.
Good problem solving/decision making skills.
Strong customer service skills.

Flexible.
Knowledge of Colonial Lifeââ¬â¢s systems, Client View, Imaging, Microsoft Outlook and a detail .knowledge of the POS system preferred.
Knowledge of Colonial Lifeââ¬â! ¢s products and processes preferred.
