Job Requirements:
Must have met the educational requirements for and passed a recognized Certification Examination for Medical Technologist (also known as Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS or Clinical Laboratory Scientist, CLS). Examples of Certification Examinations are ASCP, AMT, NCA, AAB. Maintenance of certification is not required
Details:
. Receives and results orders through Laboratory Information System and gathers appropriate specimens for analysis. Processing of these specimens may include printing worksheets and/or labeling sample cups with proper accession numbers as required by departments.
2. Performs and documents quality control.
4. Troubleshoots instrumentation when needed, corrects problems when appropriate and alerts supervisor or charge person of situation and documents on equipment failure sheet.
5. Daily, at the end of shift, prints tech log, reviews work performed, signs log and gives to Supervisor or charge person for review.
6. Performs other miscellaneous and related duties as required.
