Provides quality support to assigned production operations to ensure the integrity of components and products produced. The individual aggressively drives quality improvement efforts in assigned areas with the goal of achieving "zero defect" performance, supports process improvement and problem-solving efforts with the focus on protecting and improving product quality.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Oversees integrity of product quality for assigned area through participation as integral part of manufacturing team.
Drives and champions q! uality improvement efforts.
Provides expert analysis,! guidance and support to Production in Process Improvement activities, including effective use of Problem-Solving tools / techniques and statistical analysis.
Responsible for New Product Qualification, and verification of changes to current product.
Through the application of APQP, supports the external customers in New Product Introduction.
Insures that internal customer needs for Control Systems are met in a timely and functional manner.
Results for this position will be measured by improvements to Customer Satisfaction and Internal Scrap rate.
Optimizes Process Capability on significant characteristics through effective application of statistical analysis techniques and training of Production in Problem-Solving.
Applies knowledge of Inspection Equipment and Techniques to provide timely data usable for informed decision-making.
Utilizes analytical skill sets to implement root cause analysis and provide recomme! ndations for corrective action.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering/Technology; two+ years Manufacturing Engineering /Quality Assurance experience in the automotive industry.
Knowledge of advanced quality planning, inspection equipment and techniques, root cause failure analysis, capability studies, statistical distributions, machine (metalworking) and assembly processes, problem solving, team facilitation, G D & T, and AutoCAD.
Knowledge of QS-9000 and TS16949 automotive quality standards required.
Experience with Supplier Development a plus.
Experience in Minitab for statistical analysis preferred.
Above average computer skills in MS Office: Outlook, Excel, Word, PPT, Access.
ASQ Certification a plus.
