The employee is responsible for providing professional clerical, non-clinical services and Cardiac Monitoring functions for the patient in the intensive care unit as well as remote telemetry monitoring for certain medical/surgical patients.
The focus of the role is to manage information and provide services including cardiac monitoring functions that enhance the quality of patient care and
the environment in which the staff and physicians work.
The unit s! ecretary/monitor technician functions as a member of the patie! nt care team.
Qualifications
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
American Heart Association BLS certification and Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia.
Experience:
Previous telemetry monitoring and unit clerk experience preferred.
Special qualifications:
Interpersonal and customer service skills necessary. Requires good organization, time
management, and problem solving skills.
Degree of Supervision Required:
Involves general guidance and direction by Supervisors
and/or Department Director.
The employee will be expected to perform
most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Ages and Cultural consideration of Patients Served:
This position requires competence in assessment, treatment, and/or care for the age groups indicated.
The staff member must be able to demo! nstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned service area.
The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training, or experience
