Consumersâ Choice Health Plan (CCHP) is a nonprofit health insurer called a Consumer Oriented and Operated Health Plan (CO-OP). It is directed by its customers! and is designed to offer affordable, consumer friendly and high quality health insurance options. In addition to improving consumer choice and health plan accountability, it also promotes integrated models of care.
POSITION SUMMARY :
The Staff Accountant performs day-to-day cash accounting, accounts payable, and premium collection. This position covers front and back office responsibilities and requires that s/he be flexible and adapt to continuous change. The incumbent in this position reports to the Director of Accounting and/or their designee.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Take and log premium payments made at the office or over the phone.
Prepare deposits daily.
Process payables, travel & entertainment reimbursements, and card purchases.
Support audits and special accounting projects.
Ensure office environment is conducive to promote high productivity among staff by developing collaborative working relati! onships with department directors and staff.
Establis! h and participate in a personal health improvement or maintenance plan, with measureable goals.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Must be organized and detail-oriented.
Bachelor's Degree required (may be substituted with five to seven years relevant accounting experience).
Must thrive in a team environment.
Ability to be flexible in schedule and adaptable to constant change.
Outstanding verbal and non- verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize, work independently, and manage simultaneous assignments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to influence across the organization and work effectively with all levels of management and staff.
Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and frequent interruptions.
Ability to supervise effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) requi! red.
Demonstrate a commitment to a Consumer Oriented and Operated Health Plan (CO-OP).
Meet state requirements to legally operate a motor vehicle in the state of residence.
