Parks Worker
Location: State Park, South Carolina
Description: State of Minnesota is at the momment seeking for Parks Worker right now, this career will be settled in South Carolina. More details about this career opportunity please read the description below. This posting will be used to fill one (1) year-round, on-call Intermittent (20%) Parks Worker position at Lake Vermilion-Soudan Underground Mine State Park near Soudan, Minnesota. Days and hours of work will vary, and may include weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities include:
- Operate the visitor center by selling State Park Vehicle permits, sell mine tour tickets, take tour reservations, register campground users, sell store merchandise, and collect user fees.
- Provide information to park users regarding facilities, park activities, park rules and regulations, and points of interest in the surrounding area.
- Maintain and clean park facilities.
- Answer phones and radio messages.
- Perform grounds keeping duties such as chain sawing, mowing, weed whipping, snowplowing, shoveling and grooming trails.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to effectively communicate with the public and other employees.
- Ability to provide written information and instructions to the public and other park employees.
- Knowledge of office equipment such as calculators, cash registers, POS systems, computers, mobile devices (tablets, B lue tooth/blue tooth printers) , printers, telephone systems and other office equipment.
- Arithmetic skills sufficient to accurately collect money from the public for various fees.
- Ability to work outdoors and indoors as necessary.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions on labels, in instruction manuals, etc.
- Ability to operate a phone, two way radio, computer and other office equipment. Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Minnesota State Park rules, policies and facilities
- Record-keeping skills
- Computer skills using Microsoft Office and other proprietary software
- Experience in retail customer services/operations
- First Aid and CPR training
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle, snowplow, tractor, ATV, snowmobile, lawn mower, chainsaw, small hand tools and other equipment and tools.
- Security training and/or experience. Physical Requirements
- This position requires an unrestricted Class D Driverâs License with a clear driving record*
