About the HJGT:
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 8-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. With play open to both males and females, nearly every junior golfer is eligible to participate on the HJGT. Currently the HJGT is the largest junior golf tour in the world hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour.
Position Summary
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour is currently seeking a Special Events Coordinator to join our team. As a Special Events Coordinator, you will be responsible for creating, planning and executing high-quality events. You will work closely with our team to develop event concepts, secure venues, manage budgets, and coordinate logistics. You will oversee the planning and execution of up to six events a year.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in event planning or a related field, along with experience in event coordination and management. You should also have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure. Above all, the event coordinator must be comfortable in a leadership role that demands a creative, business-driven mindset and lasting relationships with vendors.

Responsibilities include:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the requirements for each event, ensuring that all aspects are executed flawlessly.
- Research and select the best vendors for the events. Carefully evaluate each vendor's offerings, reputation, and pricing to ensure that we partner with the most suitable and reliable vendors in the industry. The Special Events Coordinator will be responsible for managing vendor relationships and ensuring that all vendors adhere to our high standards of quality and professionalism.
- Responsible for making selections based on creativity, quality, and cost
- Book venues and ensure that all logistics are in place for a successful event
- Hire, manage and Book speakers, guest talent, celebrities, influencers
- Responsible for managing guest schedules and coordinating travel arrangements
- Manage contracts, ensuring that all details are in place, and communicating with clients to ensure that their needs are met.
- Work closely with a team to provide support and guidance as needed.
- Develop event concepts and themes, and be responsible for ensuring that all event materials are created and distributed on time. Ensure that all event communications are consistent with the brand and messaging.
- Responsible for hiring and coordinating personnel for various roles such as registration, setup, catering, audio/visual, and more. The Special Events Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and hiring the best candidates for each role.
- Ensure that all events are executed within budget and timeline constraints. The ideal candidate will have experience in event planning and coordination, be able to multitask and prioritize effectively, and have excellent communication skills.
- Offer a wide range of activities and ensure that every attendee has a memorable time.
- Ensure that all orders are placed with accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and be able to work collaboratively with a team to ensure that all orders are fulfilled in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update website to ensure it provides accurate and up-to-date information to our audience.
- Create and implement social media strategies to enhance our online presence and engage with our audience.
- Brainstorm and develop fresh ideas for exciting events that will captivate our audience.
- Manage ticket sales and ensure the successful promotion of our events.
- Manage the day-to-day administration of all events and programs. This includes but is not limited to: travel planning, reservations, registration counts, and RSVP tracking.
- Resolve issues quickly and efficiently. The Special Events Coordinator will work closely with vendors, clients, and guests to ensure that any concerns or challenges are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
- Lock down and manage day-of logistics. Ensure that events run smoothly and efficiently, leaving no room for any unforeseen issues.
- Manage all onsite staff at events
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in hospitality management from an accredited college (or equivalent work experience)
- 3-5 years professional experience in Event Coordinating

Due to the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules including nights and weekend to reflect the business needs of the company.
