The Laing Middle School Principal will lead students and staff in the development and implementation of an integrated, project based STEM c! urriculum that will result in learning experiences that best prepare students for application of STEM methodology for success in high school course work for career and college. The principal will: Communicate the mission and vision of the STEM learning platform to school personnel, students, parents, and community.Foster and maintain effective relationships with community, business and university partners.Researches educational issues related to STEM education and provide guidance to the faculty and staff.Understands the elements of effective STEM education pedagogy and ensures its implementation in the school’s daily and overall curriculum.Selects and recommends for hiring school personnel who demonstrate an enthusiasm, professional background, and understanding of STEM focused curriculum.Inspires staff, students, and parents to embrace a school-wide culture that reflects the school’s overall STEM mission and vision.Ensures that all staff is involved in the development! of specific improvement plans for the purpose of serving the ! school’s mission, establishing both long- and short-term objectives for determining success or failure.
