POSITION SUMMARY:
To maximize the sale of supplier brands to the trade and consumer through effective territory planning, selling, merchandising and communicating that permits achievement of company and supplier objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY:
The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

I. PLANNING RESPONSIBILITIES :
A Sales Representative is expected to plan his or her own time and activities to ensure the continuing achievement of company and supplier volume, distribution, display, promotion and shelf/cold box sales and merchandising objectives within the assigned territory by:

A. Establishing and following an efficient, economical routing pattern that ensures assigned accounts are contacted and serviced as needed.

B. Analyzin! g the total territory and each account to determine the priori! ty selling and merchandising opportunities.

C. Establishing priority brand and merchandising objectives for each account and for each sales call that will result in achievement of supplier volume and program goals.

D. Preparing professional sales presentation for each call tailored to current supplier programs and needs of the customer.

II. SELLING RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Sales Representative is expected to deliver effective sales presentations that achieve company and supplier sales objectives as a result of:

A. Knowing in depth the features and benefits of supplier products and programs compared to competition.

B. Obtaining appropriate distribution as directed by management of supplier brands, type and sizes within territory accounts.

C. Gaining feature price promotion, shelf position, and display merchandising support from each customer.

D. Developing positive customer relations calling on all assigned! accounts on a scheduled basis.

E. Presenting the complete wholesale house portfolio and current programs to generate maximum dollar and case sales volume.

III. MERCHANDISING RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Sales Representative is expected to secure in all accounts the effective presentation to the consumer of all brands represented in accordance with company and/or supplier merchandising standards by:

A. Following the complete steps to a sales call in each account.

B. Installing and maintaining appropriate point-of-sale material within accounts that is clean and current.

C. Selling shelf and/or cold box resets that achieve supplier and company standards.

D. Building displays of supplier brands that are located in prominent, high traffic locations.

E. Providing service that maintains supplier inventories of products that are

adequate to sustain sales; clean, freshly rotated and correctly priced.

! F. Carrying proper sales/merchandising supplies into each account.
IV. COMMUNICATING RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Sales Representative is expected to maintain territory and account records in accordance with company policy and provide information and reports as directed by:

A. Following standard company policies and procedures.

B. Submitting prompt, accurate reports.

C. Maintaining up-to-date, accurate territory and account records.

D. Keeping management informed on customer activities, sales trends and competitive activity in the territory.

E. Maintaining adequate, well-organized inventories of sales tools, supplies and merchandising materials needed to support territory activities.

Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time.

IT IS A QUALIFICATION STANDARD OF THE COMPANY THAT AN EMPLOYEE SHALL NOT P0SE A DIRECT THREAT TO THEHEALTH OR SAFETY OF THEMSELF OR OTHERS IN THE WORKPLACE.

Qualifications

Minimum! Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
High School Diploma
General product and/or wine knowledge and understanding of varietals
Reside within a thirty minute radius of a retail account within the established territory.
Possess a dependable vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of Company insurance requirements and an acceptable driving record.
Able to lift and carry a 45+ pound case of product on a repetitive basis; able to work with ladders, bend, twist, lift and work overhead
Goal oriented, focused, and assertive individual who needs little direction or supervision.
Professionally represents the Company and its suppliers in the market place

Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field.
2 or more years of industry related sales experience within the distribution, hospitality or supplier community
Extensive product portfolio and wine knowledge t! o include regions/varietals, product/food pairing techniques, basic pro! duction and service.
Proficient at calculating commissions, percentages, and reviewing comparative sales data for analysis.
Adaptable and able to assist a variety of internal customer groups and varying personality types.
Thrive on creating and selling innovative ideas and demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit.
Strong negotiation skills.
