Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer position will work within the Otis NAA System Integration Team to define elevator system strategies and concepts including system level requirements enabling Otis North America elevator systems! to be the most competitive in the market.
- Define and quantify customer product needs and expectations in the form of system requirements.
- Work closely within SIT and global component development teams to define technical requirements and assist in component application recommendations.
- Perform system and component trade-off studies to identify optimal cost/performance configurations and break-points.
- Support elevator system verification and validation by working closely with Test Engineering team.
- Manage global component requirements and interface changes for North American products.
- Support the definition and analysis of new elevator system concepts.
- Support development of system roadmaps, tools and training material.
- Conduct elevator system benchmarking of competitor products.
- Use state of the art modeling and simulation tools to reduce product development cycle time.
- Support de! velopment of systems engineering standards.
- Mentor an! d train future elevator systems engineers.
- Use leadership and organizational skills to schedule, conduct, and summarize meetings.
- Perform and manage risk assessment methodologies (RAMP, Risk Analysis, FMEA, etc.) to create risk mitigation plans.
- Develop and deliver technical presentation to review boards.
- 3 years or more elevator or closely related system/component experience required
- Strong team player and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively to collect information and drive group alignment.
- Understand elevator system and component principles.
- Has working knowledge of applicable elevator codes
- Understand principles of design for cost, installation, service and manufacture.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, as well as ethical behavior ! and decision making
