Domtar Corporation designs, manufactures, markets and distributes a wide variety of fiber-based products including communication papers, specialty and packaging papers and absorbent hygiene products. The foundation of its business is a network of world class wood fiber converting assets that produce papergrade, fluff and specialty pulps. The majority of its pulp production is consumed internally to manufacture paper and consumer products. Domtar is the largest integrated marketer of uncoated freesheet paper in North America.
Reporting to the Pulp & Paper Finance Team Lead your role will be to provide professional financial/accounting support for Domtar’s manufacturing sites as well as for the Director of Finance and Planning.
More specifically, you will have to:
- Assist in month end closing responsibilities
- Apply accounting polic! ies and principles to properly record, report, and maintain fi! nancial data
- Preparation of monthly account reconciliations and balance sheet review
- Review/prepare monthly reports
- Project resource for new initiatives and systems for the mills and the business
- Finance/Accounting liaison for assigned mill
- Provide audit support
- Resource for mill to update and maintain product costs
- Assist on special assignments, and prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis
- Coordination with mills for actual/forecast/budget results and analysis
- Provide any other necessary support for strategic and operational decision-making for the executives at head office as well as for colleagues and for plant accounting personnel.

Your profile :
You have a BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance and have successfully completed or are working towards a professional designation (CA, CPA, CMA or CGA).
Preferred: Minimum of two years of related experience (preferably within a manufacturing environment).
General knowledge of manufacturing operations and processes.
Working knowledge of company and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Strong skills in problem solving and critical thinking.
Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proven interpersonal and communication skills â€" written and verbal.
Strong teaming skills, ability to work with diverse teams, multiple organizational levels and across business functions.
Finally, knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is necessary (specifically advanced Excel) and understanding of SAP and Impact 3C will be considered an asset.
