Piedmont Technical College is accepting applications for an Applications Analyst II position to:
A. Apply knowledge of PL/SQL and other tools to develop new programs and user interfaces as required by management.
B. Work with other DBAs to apply patches to the ERP. Also, tune and monitor the current databases used by the ERP.
C. Work with users to define and analyze problems. Then, resolve the problems by programming or evaluating package! d software solutions.
D. Assists in the testing and i! mplementation of new releases of existing Banner ERP System and new applications packages.
E. Maintains system and application workflow and procedures to ensure that all data processing related work is completed in an accurate and efficient manner.
This is a full-time permanent position reporting directly to the Director of Information Systems. The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer technology or related field and one (1) year experience in computer system development and modification/programming; or an associate degree in computer science, computer technology, or related field and three (3) years experience in computer system development and modification/programming; or a high school diploma and five (5) years experience in computer system development and modification/programming. A bachelor's degree in computer technology and three (3) years of experience in computer programming is preferred. Experience in writing Ora! cle triggers, procedures, functions or knowledge of any of the following ellucian Banner ERP system, Workflow, BDMS, DegreeWorks, Crystal Reports, Evisions Intellecheck, FormFusion, and Argos is also preferred. Applicants should have the ability to write and maintain computer programs with the PL/SQL language in a Linux environment. The applicant will be required to assist Database Administrators with normal maintenance of the databases (Oracle, MySQL). Applicant must be self-motivated to learn all aspects of the applications being supported. Skills with Linux shell scripting are required to perform this position. Potential applicants will be required to work the hours necessary to deal with programming emergencies and to ensure successful completion of IT projects.
